The physiology, the engineering and the routine — everything that turns weighted fabric into the vest a million wearers keep on their bodies daily.
Adding mass close to your center of gravity increases the work your muscles, heart and lungs perform during any given movement. The result, across thousands of training studies and verified wearers, is a measurable bump in calorie burn, heart-rate response and muscular recruitment — typically 10 to 15 percent over the same exercise without the vest.
Every Zelus weighted vest model shares six engineering choices. Each one solves a problem your last vest probably didn't.
Iron sand is denser than steel shot. Each panel carries its full poundage in a thinner profile, keeping the load close to your center of gravity instead of swinging away.
A chest buckle locks the vest in front, elastic side bands hug your ribs. Supports chests 31.5″–47″ and stays snug through dynamic movement.
Wide neoprene shoulder padding spreads load before it concentrates into pressure points on your traps. Comfortable through 30–60 minute sessions.
Reflective stripes wrap front, back and shoulders. Headlights catch the vest from any approach angle during early morning, dusk and after-dark walks.
Arm pouch and rear mesh pocket on the flagship vest carry your phone, keys, dog bags and gels — without a separate fanny pack.
Lycra and SBR outer shell wicks moisture instead of soaking it. The fabric stays cool and dries quickly between sessions.

The fill inside a weighted vest determines how it feels to wear. Steel shot settles into corners and creates empty pockets. Rolled sand bags slide around inside their pockets as soon as you start moving. Both compromise weight distribution within minutes of motion.
Iron sand solves both. Fine, dense particles pack tightly into every corner of each sewn-in panel and stay packed because the particles are too small to migrate. Minute 60 feels exactly like minute one — even, balanced, quiet against your body.
Read Safety & Care →Materials, cleaning, storageThe Zelus weighted vest goes on like a jacket and locks down in three deliberate moves.
Fully loosen the chest buckle and both side straps. Put the vest on the same way you'd put on a jacket — over the head and arms, settling onto the shoulders.
Adjust the vest so the front and back panels are aligned with your torso. Avoid tilting the vest forward, backward, or to one side.
Tighten the chest buckle first to anchor the vest. Snug the elastic side bands until the vest sits flush against your body. Take a full breath to confirm.
The two-rule framework experienced wearers use to dose the Zelus weighted vest.
Long sessions: 30 to 60 minutes. The right zone for daily walking, easy jogging, posture work and rehab. Build wearing time before adding weight.
Short sessions: 15 to 30 minutes. The right zone for strength conditioning, hill hikes, interval training and short ruck practice. Rest between sessions.
Always rest your muscles between sessions for proper recovery. Full sizing guide →
